Our resident "Hollywood Rumor Queen" Jenny Law unveiled three quality unsubstantiated stories. Where does she get this information? Two local stories have made international headlines over the last couple of days. First, the sinkhole in Liberty County has the whole world wide-eyed with amazement and then a story that broke yesterday out of Humble has jaws dropping the world over. It begged the question posed by the Zoo, "what the heck is wrong with people?" Maybe you can answer that after you hear the story. With this Sunday being mother's day, we wanted to know what women really want for their day. Timmy doesn't want to spend a lot of money on gas getting a gift so he was looking for simple solutions but he was willing to accept whatever you said because it was what you truly want. So, how much will he have to spend to get what you really want? You might be surprised. Timmy did have a suggestion to his daughter's softball team as to what they could get their moms on mother's day. However, listening to Timmy talk about this, it sounded more like Timmy wanted this gift more than any mom would. Monday on the Zoo, in the 7am hour, we'll give you parts of our conversation with former Hootie and the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker from our Up Close and Personal. Thursday, May 8th, 2008 Baytown's own Chris Cagle joined us. Timmy T pointed out to Chris that he's about to enter into an exclusive club. One that has life altering ramifications. What is this exclusive club and how will Chris handle his induction? Here you go. Kline did it again. He was chosen to navigate the choppy waters of the um, uh like challenge. This is where we ask that someone talk fluidly for 20 seconds about a given topic without stumbling, having an extended pause, using repetitive words or saying um, uh or like. Kline was chosen to take the challenge. He's been on a roll lately. Jenny dug up some salacious celebrity rumors concerning Ryan Reynolds and his proposal to Scarlett Johansson and the gig that Ryan Seacrest may get upon the current hosts retirement...whenever that is. Tomorrow we'll give you more opportunities to win Up Close and Personal passes to see Darius Rucker in the listener lounge and, because it's the Friday before Mother's Day, we'll find out what mom REALLY wants on her special day. Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 One of our good friends called us this morning to talk about his new greatest hits cd, his hair and what it's like hanging out with NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Who is this friend of the Zoo? You're so close to finding out. Just click here and you'll know. The wife of New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez released details that A-Rod passed out during the delivery of their first daughter. Neither Jenny nor Kline has kids so we had to go to the "father figure" of the Zoo, Timmy T to find out how hard core it is in the delivery room. Here's what was going through Timmy's mind during the birth of his children. We played two rounds of our game Dot Com or Dot Con where you identify if a web site is real or fake. We give you the name of the site along with a description and then we ask you to identify its authenticity. It's not as easy as you'd think. Tomorrow in the 7am hour, we'll talk with Chris Cagle and then in the 6am and 8am hour, we'll give you more prize combos. Also, tomorrow, don't forget to check our "Critter Corner" to meet our latest friend from the Houston SPCA. Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 We heaped praise upon one of country music's most angelic voices when she called us to talk about her new live cd and dvd. Martina McBride told us about performing at HLSR, dispensed advice to Miley Cyrus and gave us the low down on David Hasselhoff. How does she know what "The Hoff"is like? Timmy T revealed that he is feeling "sibling inadequacy" based upon a comparison between himself and his younger brother and younger sister (she's hot...knock it off, Kline, I'm trying to get this done!) both of whom have reached a high status within their respective careers. What do they do? Could Timmy T be consoled? What would it take to get Timmy to come around? Calls from you, that's what. Jenny Law did the unimaginable during our "Are You Smarter Than Jenny" game. No, she didn't win, even though the topics were Houston and Johnny Depp. So, if she didn't win, then what could she have done to surprise us? This! Finally, Dancing With The Stars champion, Julianne Houghplaced her regular Tuesday call to us so that we could get the inside scoop on the show. Tomorrow, in the 7am hour, Dierks Bentley calls. Also, in the 6 and 8 hour, you can win not one prize, but two. We affectionately call that a combo. Monday, May 5th, 2008 Happy Cinco de Mayo. In honor of the holiday, we played a Jenny Law created game called "Sinko or No Sinko". Both of our contestants were victorious. How did it work? Today was chat day on the Zoo. No, we didn't talk any more or less than we usually do, it just means that we had two entertaining celebrity conversations. The first one was with actress Michelle Trachtenberg. She gave us the low down on Gossip Girl, Sarah Michelle Gellar, her former co-star on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, she told us who she thinks is hot and she brought Timmy T one step closer to his dream woman. All the details can be heard here. A Day In The Country artist, Phil Stacey, former American Idol contestant, broke down Paula Abdul's bizarre behavior, gave us the job specs of a Naval Musician 3rd class and talked about his upcoming appearance at A Day In The Country. Tomorrow on the Zoo, one of country music's purest voices ever, Martina McBride calls us in the 8 o' clock hour to talk about her latest cd and her upcoming show in The Woodlands, and in the 7 o' clock hour, we'll give you more Mother's Day flower certificates and Up Close and Personal Passes to see Darius Rucker. Friday, May 2nd, 2008 Tracy Lawrence joined us today to talk about his new song "When I Was A Daddy Too", what it's like turning 40 (Timmy T and Kline were taking notes) and he gave us some inside info on two of his close friends, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. Jenny Law ran across a statistic that claims 50% of men read "Cosmopolitan" magazine. Timmy T thought this figure was high, even though he flips through it (but he just looks at the pictures, he doesn't read the articles). We wanted to know what other behavior guys admit to. Kline started things off with his list which included: watching figure skating, watching Oprah, getting a manicure, getting a pedicure, getting his eyebrows waxed, watching WE and Lifetime channels...and then we had to cut him off. Were there any guys out there that would admit to atypical behavior patterns? Yes, yes there were. Timmy T pulled out his red pen and critiqued Kline's latest biopicgraphy, where he highlights the work of an actor or actress in a paragraph and you have to identify the name of the actor or actress being featured. See if you can do it on this one. Monday morning on the Zoo, we'll talk with A Day In The Country performer and former American Idol contestant, Phil Stacey in the 6am hour and actress Michelle Trachtenberg joins us in the 7am hour. Plus, we'll give you stuff including floral gift certificates that you can use for Mother's Day. Thursday, May 1st, 2008 One of the most recognizable voices and faces in Hollywood joined us this morning. Captain Kirk, TJ Hooker...both great characters brought to life by this actor, but his greatest contribution to mankind is his current role as the Priceline Negotiator. Don't mess with The Shat! William Shatner sullied his extensive resumeby chatting with the Zoo. Maybe a future role for William Shatner to consider would be the story that we discussed during Cooler Talk. First they have to make a movie about it, but with a thick plot like this, someone's gotta be pondering a screen version of this tale. Still trying to figure out what Paula Abdul was thinking on Tuesday night's American Idol when she critiqued a performance that hadn't happened yet. Also, waiting to hear word from Miley Cyrus about the fall out from her Vanity Fair photo shoot. Did we get any answers today in our Rumor Mill segment? Tomorrow on the Zoo, we'll chat up Tracy Lawrence and give you more opportunities to win Willie Nelson Family Picnic tickets. Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 A Day In The Country is fast approaching. This year, our headliner is Phil Vassar so we had a little chat with Phil today on the Zoo. He's excited about playing for you on May 17. We found out something about Phil that we didn't previously know. It has to do with a job he formerly held. What was it? You can find out here. Checks from the economic stimulus package started rolling in this week. Timmy T released a statistic that if 90% of us spent our check, that would ward off a recession. So, we wanted to know if you were going to save it or spend it and if you were spending it, what were you spending it on? Kline is spending his, but he's pretty much defeating the purpose because of where he's spending it. However, there is one overwhelming place where the money is going. Find out where by clicking here. We highlighted one of the most, if not the most, awkward moment in television history. It happened on last night's American Idol. You can probably guess who did it, but what was it? Truly bizarre. Tomorrow, we'll talk with William Shatner. Yep, that William Shatner. Captain Kirk, TJ Hooker, the Priceline Negotiator. And we'll give you more Willie Nelson tickets with ADD Theatre Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 We brought back a popular segment that we introduced last week. We didn't know that you would demand that this become a regular feature on the Zoo, but you spoke and we listened. The Q Morning Zoo Airwave Vent, where we give you ten seconds to get something bothersome off of your chest, brought out some heavy emotion. What was on your mind this week? The latest in the Roger Clemens saga got a little stranger yesterday. What, you don't know the details? Okay, here they are. And remember, this is all alleged. We played "OMG, What's The Text Code, LOL" for some Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic tickets. The text code that Mary had to decipher was "FWIW". We want to visit the planet where Mary lives. She sounds like she has a ton of fun. Finally, we spoke with "Dancing With The Stars" Champion and new country music artist, Julianne Hough. Kline asked a couple of questions and Timmy T, upon hearing these questions, immediately revoked Kline's man-card. What questions could cause that kind of reaction? Well, these. Tomorrow, we'll talk with A Day In The Country headliner, Phil Vassar and we'll have more Willie 4th of July picnic tickets for you. Kenny Chesney get's hurt at South Carolina show Monday, April 28th, 2008 Our good friend, and A Day in the Country alum, Joe Nichols joined us to talk about his recent brush with danger and to answer some stupid questions. What was it that Joe did last week that was so dangerous? Whatever it was, it brought to mind a classic movie and we couldn't stop ourselves from quoting that movie during the entire conversation. We hade Willie Nelson tickets for Willie's 4th of July weekend picnic that we wanted to give to you. We introduced Willie-oke, where we play a Willie Nelson lyric and you have to sing the rest of it. We did this twice and even though we had two winners, one actually sang the song while the other one, well, let's just say the judges were a bit lenient. Over the weekend, Kenny Chesney was injured during a concert performance when his foot got caught in an elevator and nearly crushed. True to his love for his fans and his joy of performing, Kenny hit the stage anyway and delivered a high energy show. After the show, Kenny had his cowboy boot cut off. We thought this was an "iron man" type maneuver by Kenny so we went roundtable discussion on times that we were "iron men/women". Timmy T, Kline and Jenny each weighed in with their examples. Again, Kline killed the bit as he's prone to do most of the time. What kind of lame did he serve up? Tomorrow, we'll give you more Willie Nelson tickets, we'll give you our airwaves so that you can vent about something that's bothering you and we'll talk with A Day in the Country headliner, Phil Vassar. Friday, April 25th, 2008 They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. True, unless, the last time you were in Las Vegas you were crowned Miss USA. Then we have to find out what happened and we did today when the beauty formerly known as Miss Texas USA, Crystle Stewart joined us on the Zoo. She gave us some information on Donald Trump and she also answered Timmy T's burning question about the Miss Universe pageant. Two chances to prove that you're smarter than Jenny. She's struggled with the game since we started playing it, so lately we've resorted to tossing out easier subjects in order to get Jenny into the win column. The first topic today was San Diego, because Jenny's mom lived there. Was this the topic that broke the long losing streak? The next topic, which we thought for sure was going to start a new string for Jenny, was George Strait. During this round, a bit of controversy started when Jenny came oh so close to a correct answer but the judge didn't give it to her. Decide for yourself how close was Jenny to the right answer? Monday on the Q Zoo, 2 ticket 4-packs to a huge upcoming festival that you'll definitely want to see and we'll find out about the dangerous activity that Joe Nichols recently experienced when we talk with the former A Day In The Country Artist. Thursday, April 24th, 2008 So we've been talking about it all week. The chatter going on about a possible relationship between Dancing With The Stars pair, Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough. Other than Shannon and Derek themselves, who better to ask than Derek's sister, dancer and country musician, Julianne Hough, about the romantic speculation? So, we asked her. The Annual Houston Area survey came out and for the most part it highlighted negative aspects of our city. It kind of seemed like Kline headed up the research on this one. Alas though, he assured us that he had nothing to do with it. Anyway, ever the optimist, Timmy T wanted to know what good things there are in Houston. Be forewarned, you'll have to mind your tea and crumpets when you listen to this. You'll realize why at the end of the clip. Rumors abounding that OJ Simpson is pitching an appearance on the next season of a popular TV reality series. Which one? Oh, and don't forget let us know what you think by voting in our online poll about OJ being on this particular show. Timmy T unleashed a new Age Guessing formula. Usually he's tough to beat at this...well, the formula is usually tough to conquer. This time, Timmy claimed to be able to guess your age based on your first favorite Saturday Night Live cast member. Did he run the table or was there a need for some formula tweaking? Today is Thursday and we want you to take a peek at our Critter Corner so that you can see this little cutie from the Houston SPCA. Her name is Sasha and she is just a sweetheart. Tomorrow on the Q Zoo, more Martina McBride tickets and we'll talk with Miss USA, Missouri City resident, Crystle Stewart. Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 Timmy T released news today that Paris Hilton is getting another reality show. She's already done The Simple Life. Yesterday was Earth Day. How did you celebrate? Timmy T still doesn't get into the whole celebration of Earth Day because he celebrates Earth everyday. What does he do to keep the party going? We touched on a news story from last Saturday about a fake parking attendant at the Rockets' playoff game scamming people out of $10 to park in a private lot. Folks who did park there were towed as they sat inside and enjoyed the game. Has anyone on the Zoo ever been scammed? Certainly not Timmy T, right? Tomorrow on the Q Zoo, we'll get the inside scoop on the Dancing With The Stars romance between Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough when we talk with Derek's sister, Julianne. We'll also have more Martina McBride tickets to give away before you can even buy them. |
